I want to read more, and I'm hoping a monthly series on the blog where I write about a few books that I want to read that month will hold me more accountable. I have sooooo many books shelved (literally) that I bought because they seemed good or interesting, but just never got around to reading. I'm hoping that will all changed soon thanks to the power of writing a nice big list.
How to Avoid a Climate Disaster by Bill Gates
With the start of Spring and Earth Day coming up, I thought it would be appropriate to educate myself on the environment and global warming and all that controversial stuff (I say sarcastically. Science is real. Thank you.) With that being said, I would very much like to avoid a climate disaster, so a how-to guide is always the solution!
The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson
I've read a couple of books by Jandy Nelson and I absolutely loved them (I'll Give You the Sun!!!!) but I've been avoiding this one because it's about the main characters's sister dying. I tend to avoid books that are focused around topics that scare me, like potentially losing my sister. But my therapist told me to do the things I'm afraid of so I'll start with this book!
Don't Worry, It Gets Worse by Alida Nugent
I bought this book about 8 years ago and started reading it in a courthouse waiting room on the day I served Jury Duty for the first time ever. It was a traumatic experience. This books reminds me of the panic attack I had that day. So I've been avoiding it. Again, my therapist told me avoidance is a bad coping mechanism, so I'm going to read this book!
Keep up with me on Instagram to see if I actually follow through!
Thank you for sharing the nice list!
